What is a business mobile plan?

A business mobile plan is a plan crafted exclusively for the unique needs of a business and its employees. It includes a range of features not seen on personal plans, which may include higher data allowances or free calls. Ultimately, it’s crafted to suit the way your business works and the phone needs of your employees.

Are we able to set different data usage alert levels?

Yes, we frequently configure our accounts to notify users of their data usage at 80%. We will typically notify the finance team at around 70% usage to allow us time to discuss any potential add-ons that may be required.

Will EU Roaming still be free from January 2022?

Many of the networks are introducing a small daily fee, but O2 has decided to offer free EU Roaming. This is subject to change at any time.

Are we able to record calls via our mobiles?

Yes, we have several different solutions available which will allow for mobile calls to be recorded if necessary.

Can we have multiple carriers on the same data sharer plan under one bill?

Yes, we offer cross-platform billing. We understand different networks have different strengths, and we are positioned to offer you the best from all providers without multiple complicated bills.

When can I upgrade?

O2: How much it will cost to upgrade early depends on how far you are into your contract, and prices may vary. You can upgrade to a new contract ideally after the first 12 months of your contract. However, if you’re on a longer-term contract (for those on 24-month or 36-month contracts), you may have different Terms & Conditions; please contact us or the Business Customer Services to find out your eligibility.

Vodafone: Vodafone lines can be upgraded up to 45 days prior to your contract end date. You may have different Terms & Conditions; please contact us or the Business Customer Services to determine your eligibility.

EE: If you’re an EE customer already with us, then you are able to upgrade up to 180 days prior to your contract end date; however, please note that your remaining term with EE will be rolled over onto your new EE contract (ex. If you have three months left on the previous contract and with a new 24 months contract subscribed, the final contract length will be 27 months).

To find out if you are eligible for an upgrade, simply contact us at 0330 678 0527.

What types of connections are there?

Upgrades: An upgrade is when you choose to renew your existing mobile contract with the same network provider and change your current tariff. If you choose to switch network the industry classes, this is a new connection.

Moving Networks (Porting): Many people want to take their existing number with them where they’ve built up a good network of contacts and rely on being contacted on their business mobile. This is where porting your number needs to take place. To transfer your number, you will need to obtain a Port Authorisation Code (PAC) from your existing network and provide it to our sales advisors.

A new contract with a new number: If this is an entirely new business phone or you don’t mind changing your number, then you connect as a new customer onto your chosen network. This option will not allow for post connection changes, such as the port in your existing number.

What is my PAC code?

PAC is short for ‘Port Authorisation Code’. This is what enables your current network to transfer your number to your new mobile network. Firstly you need to ask your current network for your PAC code (see below). Your PAC code is what enables you to move your mobile phone number from your existing network to your new network.

The PAC from your existing network is valid for 30 days. If you don’t use it within 30 days, you will need to get another one from your network. If you tell us your PAC code on the phone, we will aim to transfer your number within two working days; networks do not port on weekends or bank holidays. Also, for the port to be successful, the end-user needs to be in the UK on the porting day. On your porting day, it can take up to 24h to fully transfer your number onto your new network; occasionally, some disruption may be experienced.

This is because tailored business mobile plans are a more cost-effective solution compared to off-the-shelf contracts.

Can I claim my mobile phone as a business expense UK?

Yes, you can. HMRC classifies business mobile phone bills as a tax allowable expense. You can claim the full cost only if the mobile contract is held in the name of the limited company and the payments are made from your business bank account.
